FOREIGN SAVINGS EXCEEDS 6 BILLION EUR

At the end of 2009, the foreign currency savings amounted to 6.014 billion EUR which is the highest level  since 2001. Savings in foreign currency in 2009 increased by 1.23 billion EUR in comparison to 2008, whereby more than half of that increase, or 640.3 million EUR, was deposited in the last two months. The increased savings confirm the growing trust in banks that have sustained the impact of the economic crisis and managed to recover old and attract new savings by adopting the active policy and with support of the measures proposed by the Government and National Bank of Serbia.
