NEW TECHNOLOGIES: FROM PLASTIC BOTTLES TO „ECOLOGICAL“ SPORTS UNIFORMS

Scientists and researchers around the world have been working on development of new recycling technologies based on use of efficient and rational procedures. The US scientists perfected the processing of PET packaging into yarn which by special technological process was further turned into recycled polyester used in textile industry. Namely, the first final product resulting from recycling of PET bottles are soccer uniforms that will be worn by players at this year's World Championship in South Africa, including the members of the  Serbian "Eagles". The uniforms made from recycled plastic bottles are lighter from previous models by even 15%. In addition, special technological characteristics of the material ensure high-level air exchange through a large number of hardly noticeable holes in the fabric.  It takes only 8 PET bottles to produce one „ecological’’ soccer uniform.
