SECOND REGIONAL CONFERENCE "REGIONAL COOPERATION IN TOURISM DEVELOPMENT –           SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, AS PRECONDITION OF COMPETITIVENESS IN TOURISM"

The Conference was organized by the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with GTZ, with the support of Serbian Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, and with great contribution of countries from the region, as well as UK, Holland and Austria. The key topics of the Conference were: "Integrated tourist products" and "Sustainable development of tourism".

 

Key speakers at the Conference were Mr. William Infante, the Head of the UN Mission in Serbia, Mr.  Predrag Gluhakovic, Minister of the Trade, Tourism and Services of the Government of the Republic of Srpska and professor PhD Goran Petkovic, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development of Serbia.

 

The objectives of the Conference were: to intensify the cooperation between the economies from the region in the filed of tourism, to increase the number of tourists, to attract the tourists from the third countries into the region, to identify and promote the regional tourist products, to enhance the competitiveness of tourist products by conducting sustainable development measures. A special attention was paid to ecotourism, the experiences and best practice cases.
