The presentation ceremony of 2009 Annual Awards of the BCC for the best doctoral and master thesis, university graduation papers, inventions, design solutions and technical improvements, took place on March 3, 2010 in Atelje 212 theatre. In the opening speech, PhD Milan Janković, President of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce remarked that, by recognizing, supporting, and investing in science, research and innovations, the BCC wants to encourage true values. In his words, knowledge on one side and universities and institutes as sources of the knowledge on the other, are the real pillars of future development of Serbia. President Janković pointed out that development of Serbia and Belgrade must be based on science and new technologies as they are the generators of the overall progress of the society.

Presidents of the both selection panels, Prof. PhD Dragan Đuričin and Prof. PhD Zoran Radojević, remarked that knowledge and talent should be much more acknowledged in our society and the proper way to do it is to support and invest in science which is the generator of society's improvement and prosperity.

This year's presentation ceremony was in accordance with the year of biodiversity. The UN General Assembly proclaimed 2010 as the International Year of Biodiversity, and called all member countries to reduce the biodiversity loss in order to protect the planet and life on it.

PhD Marija Marun and Prof. PhD Milorad Milovančević thanked the BCC on behalf of all award receipients pointing out the high level of its corporate responsibility evidenced by multi-decade support to science and innovations, even in the hardest times of economic crises.
