'' INFLUENCE OF THE WORLD ECONOMIC CRISIS ON DEVELOPMENT OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SMEs AND STIMULATING MEASURES FOR DEVELOPMENT OF FAVORABLE INVESTMENT CLIMATE ''

Global economic crisis has marked the last year and caused numerous consequences on the world, national, regional and local economy. This has created a need for the meeting between representatives of the relevant Ministries of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and representatives of the companies and entrepreneurs, whose business activities suffer the most from the consequences of the global economic crisis.

In order to find proper solutions in direct conversation with economic operators and entrepreneurs, as well as to inform them about measures and plans for overcoming the effects of crisis, Belgrade Chamber of Commerce has organized, on June 3, 2009, in Center ''Sava'', a round table on:

The speakers were as follows: Radmila Bukumirić Katić, Assistant Minister – the Ministry of Work and Social Policy, Aleksandra Vučetić, Advisor – the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development, Partick Voller, Secretary General – SME Union, Svetlana Gospić, Director General – Department for bank supervision, National Bank of Serbia, Zoran Jovičić, President – World Diaspora Organization, Olivera Božić, Director – Development Fund for the Republic of Serbia, Zoran Vasić, Assistant Director – Department for Education and Communication, Tax Administration, Milan Đurić, Head of Department for Education and Communication, Tax Administration, Dr Nikola Stefanović, Director – SEAF, Radan Ilić, Assistant Director – National Employment Service, Natalija Radoja, Director, Department for Entrepreneurship and Employment Program – National Employment Service, Nataša Savić, Consultant – Economic Institute, Aleksandar Milošević, Secretary of the Center for Development of SME and Entrepreneurship - Belgrade Chamber of Commerce. Moderator at panel discussion was Prof PhD Branko Medojević, President of Association of Economists of Belgrade.

After the welcome speech, MSc Milan Janković, President of the Belgrade Chamber of Commerce, pointed out that, in the following period, consequences of the global economic crisis will mostly hit entrepreneurs and SMEs, and that solutions of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the relevant Ministries should be pointed to the stated target group. He also said that solution for overcoming the effects of crisis lies exactly in development of entrepreneurship and SMEs.
